Coming off a big win against Warren, the Scouts (3-1) were ready to prove their dominance in this year’s Lake County Tournament. Facing off against both conference and non-conference teams, the boys played extremely well despite missing junior Kevin Lamp for the final 3 games.

It began on Friday  when the Scouts faced off against Antioch and Waukegan, two teams that fought hard but couldn’t manage to handle the heat of the Scouts. They rolled and won both games in straight sets, defeating Waukegan 25-13, 25-13, and handling Antioch 25-14, 25-17. Lamp managed to tally up a total of 21 kills in his only two games of the weekend. On Saturday, the boys won two tight games against Lakes, 25-15, 27-25, and Zion-Benton, 14-25, 25-14, 25-15, before again facing off against familiar NSC foe Stevenson in the tournament finals. They fought hard, but the Scouts couldn’t get the job done in the final game of the weekend, losing 18-25, 17-25, and finishing with the crown of second place.

Multiple players stepped up big during this tournament due to the absence of Kevin Lamp. Joe Chamberlain finished the weekend with 44 kills and Kyle Waggoner added 26 over the course of the weekend. Also, kunior setter Justin McCartney had 106 assists during the weekend as the Scouts improved to (7-2).

Come out tonight to watch the Boys Volleyball team take on Lake Forest Academy just off of Townline Road for their 6th straight away game.
