As mentioned before, Prom is the most stressful dance of the year and with that comes fretting over all that goes along with it. However, most people would agree that girls have it worst. Whether it be picking out a dress, trying to find a date, tables, or just the “Prama” itself, something is bound to go wrong. In this article, there are quotes from both senior and junior girls and why is it they stress so much about this time of year.

SENIORS:

“I would say the most stressful part about prom is finding a dress and having everyone post every cute/ possible dress ever on their Facebook.”

“I feel like post is really stressful because you want to have a plan but don’t want to exclude people. People sometimes go with such random people. Also, it’s always so last minute because no one wants to host”

“I was stressed about getting a date, but now that I have one I’m a bit stressed about finding a dress and post”

“The only thing I’m worried about is flashing people because my dress is really short”

“I think creating the table and having everyone agree about who is there is stressful because some people might not like the others involved and vice versa.”

“I think just getting everyone on the same page. Finding your senior friends a date because they (the guys) all asked underclassmen.”

“I think some of it’s, like, good stress. I think it’s funny that the girls are always the ones that are so stressed and the guys don’t really care and then there’s drama. I just feel like the girls are always you know.”

“Everything is stressful. I feel like finding a pre and post is hard. Tables have been really stressful this year.”

“I don’t know, I feel like finding a date that isn’t awkward is hard because if all your friends are paired up and you get stuck with a friend of a friend, it can be really awkward because you don’t know them but you have to walk down the red carpet with them and sit with them on the bus.”

JUNIORS:

“It was finding my dress, but now it’s my shoes.”

“My best friend’s boyfriend told me how he’s asking her and now keeping that secret is really hard.”

“I guess the one thing stressing me out is the table situation. I’m going with a sophomore so he wants to go with his friends but I want to sit with mine, so trying to figure that out is hard.”

“All of a sudden everyone had a date and everyone was taken. Everyone already has their tables set up and everything.”

“I would say finding a dress because–especially with the juniors–everyone finds them so quickly and then you can’t get them because someone else has it. Also, what if it doesn’t fit or it’s not long enough.”

“I think it’s really hard just because I don’t think prom is really done in the traditional sense anymore. I feel like it’s kind of just the girls who set up all their friends and guys get left in the dark until like three weeks later.”

“I think finding a date, but finding a date has changed. They way that it used to work was that the date would just surprise the date but now–at least for my friends–the girls will go out and asks the guys for their friends.”
