The Scout Shout-Out is an opportunity for Scouts of all types to honor each other when we demonstrate the values that are most important to us. Mya Edwards

What happened: Mya bravely wrote a powerful and thoughtful opinion piece for “The Forest Scout” about her personal experience as a biracial student at Lake Forest High School.

What happened: Samantha has been riding horses for years.  Her hard work and dedication and talent have led her to a well deserved Reserve Championship.  Congratulations Samantha.  You’re a great student and a great equestrian.

What happened: Whether he is reading the part of the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet or sharing something personal during Good News Monday, Henry consistently brings enthusiasm, wit, and insight to our English 1 classroom. We appreciate the effort and humor. Keep it up!

Angela Karr

What happened: No matter what she is going through she always makes sure that everyone has a smile on their face. She is able to light up the room by just being present. Her laugh and positivity are contagious. She is a very bright light in this world to so many.

What happened: They spent countless hours and hours and hours measuring and measuring again.  Setting up classrooms for a safe return for our staff and students.

Alivia “Liv” Krebs

What happened: Liv is just a relentless ray of sunshine in the life of everyone who meets her. She is so incredibly hard working, loyal, humble, kind, and so much more. Throughout this virus she has adapted to remote learning and has given everyone so much love and support, even through the dark times.

Will Baldwin

What happened: He deserves to be recognized for the amazing impact he makes on this community

Personal Message: Will is such a generous and caring soul that regardless of who comes to ask him for help, he would be there like a brother. he is a young man that so many of his peers look to be like with his kind nature, light hearted humor, and welcoming smile he helps support every student with a homework or other help question and the school could definitely use more people like him.

Ashley Guest

What happened: Ashley is so interactive and encouraging via our Google Meets. I can always count on her to laugh at my lame jokes, give me a thumbs up/down if I’m asking for confirmation of something, and share her wonderful ideas with our class.

Syd Pitera

What happened: Syd helped a new person (from a different class!) find their way to the library from the fieldhouse.  Because of her kind demeanor, a student from another class felt comfortable enough to go up to her and asked her if she could show him where the library was.  Or course, Syd said sure (smiling under her mask). 🙂

Personal Message: Syd is an empathetic, kind and positive young person.  She has the ability to make anyone feel comfortable and welcome.  Keep shining, Syd!!

Robin Kokke

What happened: Robin is a great person to talk to, and she helps people with math, and she is so nice to talk to. She is a great at playing tennis. She so funny and caring to other people and she is a good friend.

What happened: I went to the mailbox this morning and found an adorable little bottle of hand sanitizer imprinted with the following greeting: “Be our socially distant Valentine?”

Personal Message: Thank you student council for the valentine’s day treat. The sentiment is most appreciated and I loved the creativity. Stuco is awesome!

What happened: She is so fun and supportive. I came to this school and didn’t know anyone. She made it really easy to get to know her through online school. She is really nice and does her best to help me if I’m struggling.

Bruce Elstrom

What happened: We were in a bind and needed a bunch of 2×4’s for Home Improvement class. Delivery would have taken 4-5 days and the class needed the lumber the next day, so Bruce went and got them for us.

LFHS Boys Swimming and Diving

What happened: We were able to finish our season long season and will compete on 3/13 at the NSC Conference Meet!

Personal Message: Dave, Pat, John and I are incredibly proud of your spirit, perseverance and commitment to your team this season.  We made it and each and everyone of you have inspired us each and every day!  Congrats and GO SCOUTS!

Tegan Heswall

What happened: She has been my best friend since kindergarten. She has been there for me through all my challenges that I faced mentally. She’s there for others. She’ll drop what she’s doing to come over to someone’s house to make sure they are ok and to help them out.

Personal Message: Hey Tegan, I’m shouting you out because you have been an incredible friend to me since kindergarten. You have helped out with school and with my personal problems. Love you girly.
