Top 10 Most Memorable Moments from the 2016 Presidential Election

A+man+in+a+suit+and+tie

It’s been a long, crazy road to this week. The 2016 campaigning season is finally over. No matter which side you’re on, this election has been many things, shocking, frustrating, confusing, ground-breaking, but above all, entertaining. Here are 10 of the most memorable moments that made us all stop and say “what the heck is happening?”.

  • Trump disclosing Lindsay Graham’s cellphone number, and Graham then obliterating it on national TV.
  • Lincoln Chafee’s inspiring policy platform: “Let’s be bold. Let’s join the rest of the world and go metric.”
  • Gary Johnson’s inability to name a single world leader without the help of his running mate, Bill Weld, who Johnson almost always recognizes.
  • A little bird landing by Grandpa Bernie, collectively melting the hearts of the American people as he said, “I think there’s some symbolism here.”
  • Fearsome Ben Carson encouraging us to fight back against terrorist attacks in the aftermath of a deadly attack at a community college, “I would not just stand there and let him shoot me.”
  • Donald Trump proudly descending upon us via escalator to announce his candidacy, launching a unique campaign by imitating a mall grand opening.
  • Hilary Clinton’s emails inadvertently directing Anthony Wiener back into the public eye.
  • When the Rubio Robot short-circuited and he repeated the same scripted line criticizing President Obama 4 times in one debate, which Chris Christie pointed out, “There it is. There it is. The memorized 25-second speech.”
  • Billy Bush getting accidental revenge for his cousin Jeb by encouraging and recording crude banter with Trump.
  • The first time Bernie Sanders combed his hair. Oh wait… that’ll have to wait till 2020.
