VERNON HILLS, Ill.–The Scouts put forth a particularly impressive performance on Saturday as they routed Antioch 61-20. The Scouts (2-1) played exceptional defense and forced 24 turnovers throughout the course of the game in addition to holding the Sequoits to only one basket and six points in the first half.
Due to the Scouts’ length and size, defense may become their calling card as we get further on into the season. On the offensive side of the ball, the Scouts were paced by freshman Lilly Trkla (13 points, 2 rebounds) and junior Grace Trizmalis (11 points, 4 rebounds). Point guard Halle Douglass also did an exceptional job of distributing the ball and forcing turnovers (seven assists, five steals). The Scouts are back on track with two convincing wins after dropping their first contest to Lake Forest Academy. With talented underclassmen, a true point guard, and veteran leadership in the five seniors still on the roster, make sure you support the Scouts as they continue to improve and gel throughout the season.
The Scouts look to advance to 3-1 tonight when they take on the Sycamore Spartans at 6:00 pm at Vernon Hills High School. Make sure to be there to cheer on the Scouts to another win!
