Theme for Prom 2017 Announced!

A+group+of+people+standing+in+front+of+a+crowd

As of Friday morning, the official theme for Prom 2017 has been decided. Of the three choices, Mt. Olympus: A Night in the Clouds, Yacht Club, and Out of This World, A Night in the Clouds was voted the theme for this year’s prom by the junior class. Along with the theme, there’s another change to Prom this year; while in years past it’s been held at the Marriott downtown, this year it will be held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. The brains behind the theme, Junior Class President Trisha Bhagat and VP Drew Arnson, had a few words to say about all that this entails.

“We wanted to capture the feeling of Mt. Olympus, inspired by the paradise of the gods and classical Greek imagery,” said Drew. Trisha then explained, “The theme will have a color scheme consisting of ivory, navy blue, and gold. It will encompass the ancient Greek architecture with ‘marble’ pillars and vines.”  If you missed the official blurb on the voting ballot, here it is:

Imagine a grand entrance and a night full of elegance, walking among the Greek gods on Mount Olympus. An array of white clouds float effortlessly in the angelic sky with twinkling lights all around. The view is serene with its sparkling marble pillars, classic Greek statues, and beautiful vines. The delicious food and lively music provide great entertainment with a stunning view. Step into the shoes of a Greek god and all the extravagance that comes with it.

With all that said, it’s going to be tough waiting until May for our Night in the Clouds
