Looking for a massive NSC win, the Scouts (8-2) faced the #3 ranked volleyball team in the state, the Libertyville Wildcats (11-1). With multiple Division 1 athletes, Lake Forest needed to being their A-game protecting the front line and containing Libertyville big swingers. Also, both teams were missing key contributors with 6’3” Ohio State commit Jack Stevens out with pink eye for the Cats, and middle Kyle Waggoner sidelined for the Scouts.
The boys jumped out to a good start, but couldn’t contain Libertyville, who won the first game 20-25 after many unforced errors by the Scouts. The second game ended with the same score, and the Scouts suffered their third loss on the season, even with a strong effort from Kevin Lamp. Libertyville was led by Colin Hawkinson with 9 kills.
Come watch the Scouts take on North Chicago Community High School in the Competition Gym tomorrow night.
