LAKE FOREST, Ill.–After starting off their season red-hot, the boys volleyball team (2-0) looked to keep their winning streak alive as they faced NSC powerhouse Stevenson (6-1) in their East Campus opener. Coming into the match the Patriots had only lost 3 games the entire season with a record of (14-3), proving that they are a leading force in the area. The Scouts looked to challenge this team and earn a statement win in their own gym.
Coming back from a long Spring Break, the boys fought hard in the first game, losing 26-24, but showed Stevenson that they are force to be reckoned with. The Scouts bounced back with grit, winning the second game by a large margin of 25-18. Finally, in a long final battle, the Patriots just barely edged out the Scouts 30-28, earning them the match victory. The Scouts were led by Kevin Lamp and Joe Chamberlain who produced a combined 29 kills. Jake Danneker (7 digs) and Brennan Marzella (5 digs) also demonstrated strong performances in the loss.
