Bad Bunny made his mark on the music industry and made history at the 2026 Grammys, being the first to win Album of the Year with an exclusive Spanish-language album.
Along with winning Album of the Year, he also won Best Música Urbana Album and Best Global Music Performance.
Bad Bunny has many fans at LFHS, and his impact spans across all age groups.
“You can see the impact that it has in our class, like how much we all love his music,” said Spanish Teacher Ms. Marni Levinson.
One way students are exposed to his music is through their Spanish class. Students at LFHS enrolled in Spanish class do a March Madness bracket, but with strictly Spanish-language songs called Mania Musical. This is how many students heard about Bad Bunny and began listening to his music.
“I always look forward to Mania Musical since it is a great outlet in our class, and we have been doing it since freshman year. It helps me enhance my language and learn new words as well,” said senior Lizzy Grace.
Lizzy Grace is not the only one who enjoys listening to Bad Bunny in Spanish Class.
“I like listening to his music in class, and I think it’s really cool that he’s performing at the Super Bowl. I like how you don’t have to be fluent in Spanish to listen to his music. He has so many different songs, too,” said freshman J.D. Walters.
Mania Musical has made more students interested in Spanish and Latino music, causing them to care more about Bad Bunny’s win and relate to his emotions during the Grammys. When he won the award, he stopped moving for a minute and put his hands over his eyes, then when he got up and removed his hands, there were tears on his face.
“What I think it means to the Latino community is that Spanish is for everyone. Bad Bunny put out an album that’s passionate, makes people move, and that reaches everyone,” said Levinson.
He won the Grammy with his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, which includes the popular song ‘DtMF.’ Many are hoping to hear this song at the Super Bowl this Sunday.
“My favorite song by him is definitely ‘DtMF.’ I can’t wait to watch him sing it live,” said Walters.
This big Grammy win for Bad Bunny has enhanced the aura around his upcoming performance at the Super Bowl.
Bad Bunny’s music has had an impact on students and staff, making his win valuable at LFHS and beyond.
“I’m super excited for the Super Bowl. I don’t really care who wins the football game. I just want to watch at halftime,” said Levinson.
