Halloween is a super fun time of the year; however, many students feel like they are too old to trick or treat, so here are five alternative ways to spend Halloween night.
Chicago Ghost Tours

If you’re looking for a scary way to spend Halloween, Chicago Hauntings Ghost Tours has tons of different ghost tours. There are a few different types of ghost tours, and they each explore Chicago’s haunted history. This experience takes you on a bus with a tour guide who shows you the history of real events and ghost sightings around the city of Chicago. On the tour, you will be able to visit these haunted sites and explore them. This is the perfect way to have an interactive way of spending Halloween with real history and chilling stories.
Escape Rooms

Want something interactive and exciting this Halloween? Try an escape room! Sixty to Escape is an escape room located inside Gurnee Mills Mall. Here you will have just sixty minutes to escape the room, and you’re given puzzles, codes, and clues to break out of the room. They have multiple different themed rooms: you can do a suspenseful room, a mystery room, or even a horror-themed room. So if you want a fun challenge, see if you can make it out in sixty minutes!
“I think escape rooms are a great way to spend Halloween because they are fun, and you can do them with friends and family,” junior Grayson Auriol said.
Haunted houses

Haunted houses are the perfect way to spend Halloween with your friends. The 13th Floor Haunted House is located right next to O’Hare Airport in Schiller Park, IL. This haunted house has mini escape challenges, zombies who try to tag you with mini water balloons, and many other fun experiences within 13 different floors. If you’re looking for a spooky and exciting way to spend Halloween, 13 Floors Haunted House is the perfect activity for you.
Halloween Costume Party

Attending a costume party with your friends is just the right way to spice up your Halloween night. You get to dress up, participate in the Halloween spirit, and show off your creativity. If you are into costumes and hanging out with your friends, this is the ultimate way to spend your night.
“My favorite way to spend Halloween is going to a costume party because I love to dress up. I think it’s so fun to wear a fun costume and hang out with my friends,” junior Laney Engelberg said.
