Like many athletes, Demetri Fallidas has put much time and effort into his sport, hoping to get to the top one day. This season could finally take him there.

Fallidas has played hockey ever since he was a little kid. He grew up playing for Falcons Hockey Club and recently started playing for the Lake Forest Scouts Hockey Club.

Demetri is off to a great start in his 2023-2024 hockey season as he leads the Scouts in points with two goals, five assists, and seven points in just four games.

“My key to success is to work with my linemates all the time; I wouldn’t be having this start without them,” Fallidas said.

He is on top of his team in points and climbing the league standings.  Fallidas shot up to number three in the entire league in points after his assist on Wednesday against Loyola Academy.

“My goal is to be top five in the league in points by the end of the year, but more importantly, I just want to win some games.”

Although Fallidas has outstanding individual stats, it is evident that Fallidas cares more about the team than himself. He plays like a team player and always wants what’s best for the guy next to him. He has high expectations for himself and his team.

“Fallidas is a reliable linemate; he rarely makes mistakes, but when he does, he learns from them and corrects himself almost every time. When he has the puck, he’s always looking to make an offensive play.” Assistant captain Zach Shoemaker said.

While many of his teammates recognize Fallidas’ skill and dedication, his teammates also greatly value his morale.

“He’s an unselfish player who’s always looking for his teammates.” teammate Jackson Drum said.

One thing that should not go unnoticed, though, is his work ethic. Demetri did not get to this point from luck and good bounces. He had to work almost daily to become the dominant force he is now.

“I care more about how our team does than I do individually,” he said. “I want to continue to sharpen up on defense to give us the best chance to win. I think as soon as we all improve our defensive abilities, we can win some big games,” said Fallidas.
