The Lake Forest Scouts (20-8, 9-3) recently received the #2 seed in the Fremd (Palatine) Sectional that starts in a few weeks. In the meantime, they have a regular season to finish. The Scouts, who could finish the season with an (11-3) conference record with wins over Lake Zurich and Zion-Benton, still are looking to improve.
Ideally, the Scouts would be (23-8) the next time they face Lake Zurich, but that hypothetical situation will have to wait. The Bears (14-9, 9-3) have played one of the toughest schedules in the state under coach Chris Bennett, and their (9-3) record in the rugged NSC validates that. Still, the Bears received the #7 seed in the Fremd Sectional and, if all goes according to numbers, will likely have showdown with Lake Forest with an IHSA Regional on the line. The Bears have won four games in a row heading into tonight’s match-up while the Scouts are on a one-game win streak after earning an impressive 44-39 victory over Libertyville on Wednesday.
Look for tonight’s match-up to be a highly-contested tilt in Lake Zurich, with both teams jockeying for confidence heading into playoff season. The full seedings for the Fremd Sectional are listed below.
