LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.–The Lake Forest Scouts girls basketball team has reached the 20-win mark for the 2017-18 season following a road win on Wednesday night. The Scouts (19-8, 8-3) earned a hard-fought 44-39 win at Libertyville behind Halle Douglass and Finola Summerville, who each contributed 12 points. Lake Forest started the game strong, outscoring the home team 16-9 in the first quarter. 5’8″ freshman Lauren Huber led the Wildcats (13-11, 6-5) with 11 points.
The Scouts, who now have Lake Zurich and Zion-Benton as their only remaining games on the schedule, are looking forward to finishing the season on the right note heading into IHSA State Competition. The Scouts will play in the Fremd High School Sectional, which features Lake Forest, Stevenson, Grayslake Central, and Fremd as the likely top contenders for the crown. The Regional hosts for the Sectional are Buffalo Grove, Grayslake North, Zion-Benton and Highland Park.
