Intramural Update: Week 5

A+clock+hanging+from+the+ceiling

Team Kyle Wix (5-0) defeated KFC Buckets (4-1) 42-39

A low-scoring affair in this classic senior battle started slow with missed shots from both sides. As they usually do, the 3-peat wonders, Team Kyle Wix, battled back after being down by 6 at half to win the game. KFC Buckets were missing a large piece of their offense in Jake Danneker, and they hope for a rematch in the playoffs to challenge the dynasty. Team Kyle Wix were led by seniors Adam Johnson and Drew Golde and KFC Buckets’ main contributor was Joe Chamberlain.

Rim Wreckers (2-2) overcame Join Effort (0-4) 87-69

In an offensive battle between these two senior groups, the Rim Wreckers managed to overcome Join Effort. Led by offensive leader Charlie Pickus, the star managed to carry his team to victory in an impressive 87 combined points from the (2-2) squad. Join Effort fought hard throughout the game but couldn’t swing the momentum when they needed it to earn their first win.

The Armadillos (3-1) dubbed The Globetrotters (1-3) 59-50

In a highly contested ball game, the Armadillos outscored The Globetrotters via the strong play of guard Matthew Barigazzi, known affectionately as “Gazzi Island.” This battle was tight but Connor Riley and The Globetrotters couldn’t squeak out the win. Next sunday The Armadillos will face a big test against Team Kyle Wix in an attempt to earn their 4th win.
