Tonight, Lake Forest High School will host its first Scout Experience event. The school will welcome incoming freshman and their families into the building for an event aimed to immerse them in the academics and activities that the high school offers. The event will be held in the competition gym and field house at East Campus (1285 N. McKinley Rd.), and will run from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
In the field house, families will have the opportunity to meet directors and teachers from the main curriculums, so they can inquire about certain classes. In addition, coaches, athletes, and clubs will be present to answer questions and provide information about all of the extra-curricular activities the high school has to offer. Meanwhile, in the competition gym, the band, orchestra, and choir will have presentations for everyone to enjoy.
To cap off the evening, the deans, counselors, and technology department will have presentations about their respective fields. The deans will discuss school policy, attendance, and locker rules. The counselors and registrar will discuss registration, class selection, and necessary documents. Finally, the technology crew will provide information for ChromeBooks, Schoology, and other technology platforms and learning management systems within the school.
Overall, the school hopes that the Scout Experience will be an all encompassing evening for incoming students and their families. The evening will provide information and presentations about all aspects of life as a high school student here at Lake Forest.
