VERNON HILLS, Ill.–The girls basketball team dropped a close contest 42-36 against the Sycamore Spartans last night at the Vernon Hills High School Thanksgiving tournament.
Coming off a big win against Antioch, the Scouts were unable to find their offensive groove against Sycamore. The Scouts rebounded well and played another game of hard-nosed defense as they forced 11 turnovers. Sophomore Halle Douglass led the Scouts on the defensive side of the ball with 5 steals and 2 blocks.
Offensively, Junior Grace Trizmalis was the x-factor for the Scouts with 9 points and 5 rebounds. Other key contributors included the freshman duo of Lily Trkla, who added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks, as well as Finola Summerville, who chipped in 5 points and 5 rebounds.
The Scouts hope to get their footing back tonight when they take on Elk Grove at 6:00 PM at Vernon Hills High School. Come out and support the Scouts!
