Senior midfielder Jake Danneker led the Scouts the furthest he could this year. Yesterday, at the varsity boys soccer banquet, Danneker was awarded All-NSC and All-Sectional recognition for his work as the Scouts’ offensive catalyst this season from the midfield position.
Though the Scouts, often depleted with injuries throughout much of this season, did struggle at times on the offensive end, Danneker did his best to spark the Scouts’ attack in each game. His first half goal against North Shore Country Day helped the Scouts earn a 2-0 win over the Raiders early on in the season, and his scoring continued throughout the season. He also scored a goal in a game against Libertyville this season, one of the best teams in the state.
Over the course of the year, Danneker compiled 4 goals and 3 assists in 17 games for the Scouts, who finished the season (4-12-2, 1-6) after bowing out Glenbrook North in the IHSA State Tournament.
Senior Joey Williams was elevated to Honorable Mention All-Conference.
