Due to a scheduling conflict, the Lake Forest Scouts golf team competed in two 9-hole conference match-ups Wednesday night. One match faced the Scouts against the Warren Blue Devils at Bittersweet Golf Club in Gurnee while the other showcased the Scouts and the Waukegan Bulldogs at Bonnie Brook Golf Club in Waukegan.
In the match against Warren, the Scouts were paced by Scott Frevert’s 36 (E). Frevert’s round consisted of nine consecutive pars. In scoring, he was followed by sophomore Patrick Moorhead (39, +3), senior Wes Dixon (39, +3), and junior Danny Fisher (40, +4). Lake Forest’s team total of 154 was unable to be matched by the Blue Devils, who posted a 170 as a team.
Meanwhile, the Scouts earned a W just north of Gurnee as well. At Bonnie Brook, Tyler Trachsel, Erik Leudeking, Flynn Bradley, and Connor Higgins all posted counting scores for the Scouts to beat the host Bulldogs 160-197.
The Scouts return to action this weekend at the McDermand Invitational hosted by Lake Bluff Golf Club.
