This spring, Scout Nation is partnering with Funds2Orgs.com to help developing countries by redistributing gently worn shoes. As Scouts, we have the opportunity to boost economies, protect our planet, and raise money for Scout Nation by participating in the drive.
Scout Nation is the club behind the school’s pride and spirit that encourages the student engagement, leadership, and culture associated with every sports program at LFHS.
For years, Scout Nation has inspired students to participate in the empowerment of athletics and fostered a community that is unmatched. Now, they are inspiring the lives of others.
Soles for ScoutNation is an ongoing two-month long fundraiser from April 1st until May 31st. All donated shoes will be redistributed by Funds2Orgs.com—a program that helps developing countries in need–to help their economies, recycle shoes in an effort to promote sustainability, and raise funds for Scout Nation.
Though this community-based operation spans from now until the end of May, mark your calendars for April 22nd, Earth Day, and May 18th, the annual Wellness Walk at East Campus—two important shoe drive dates.

Scout Nation’s goal by the end of May is to collect 100 bags with 25 pairs of shoes per bag. The fundraiser is run and operated by Scout Nation sponsor, Mrs. Julie Crouch, and Scout Nation President Emerson Buettner. In collaboration with donors, they work with micro-entrepreneurs to grow and sustain small businesses in developing countries where opportunity and jobs are limited due to economic status.
From Scout Nation’s donations, the proceeds from the sales will be used to feed, clothe and house these underprivileged families in countries such as Haiti, Cambodia, Ghana, and Guatemala.
By pulling together a collection of extra shoes that are going unworn in your closet, you have the chance to raise money for Scout Nation and assist families in need of economic opportunity to break systemic poverty. With no access to shoes, it is difficult for children to receive an education and adults to have job opportunities.
Donations of gently worn, used, and new shoes in wearable condition will be collected, and this small act of kindness can change the trajectory of someone’s life: promoting positive change and sustainability across the globe.
Since Spring is the season of cleaning, set aside some time to filter through pairs of shoes that you can part with. Boxes are placed in the front commons of East Campus and through the indoor facility doors at West Campus.
Drop off the shoes any time through the end of May, perhaps on your way to watch one of the numerous athletic events hosted in the near future. Please contribute to Scout Nation’s goal of collecting 2,500 pairs of shoes!
