Just last month, Mr. Beast, one of the world’s most renowned YouTubers, collabed with the infamous wrestlers and fellow YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI to create Lunchly. Marketed as a healthier version of Lunchables, the product has already faced issues with quality and has sparked other controversies.
For those unfamiliar with the situation, the immediate concern among many people is that KSI, and especially Logan Paul, have a very contentious history. Logan Paul had his unsettling “suicide forest” incident where he filmed the dead body of a person who had committed suicide. KSI and Logan have also had a history of using racial slurs.
As for Mr. Beast, he has been accused of allowing a convicted pedophile to work as a manger in his company, failing to address incidents such as sexual assault and fraud. YouTubers like DanTDM and Rosanna Pansino have voiced their concerns about Lunchlys.
“This is selling crap to kids who don’t know better than to trust the people who are selling it to them. Do better,” DanTDM said.
There are three kinds of Lunchlys: the Fiesta Nachos, Turkey Stack ‘Ems, and “The Pizza.” Notably, there are all Lunchable versions of these. Each Lunchly comes with one of KSI and Logan Paul’s Prime energy drinks, the main meal, and a Mr. Beast Feastables chocolate bar.
However, Lunchly’s controversies extend beyond its creators and their cash grab. A few days ago, Rosanna Pansino, a baking YouTuber, uploaded a video comparing Lunchly and Lunchables. She revealed that the cheese in her first Lunchly, “The Pizza,” was moldy.
“This is really dangerous,” Pansino said.
However, Pansino isn’t the only person finding mold in their Lunchlys. Multiple TikTok videos have been recorded of customers finding mold inside their Lunchlys, sharing similar experiences.
According to Newsweek, a Lunchly representative said that “all Lunchly products go through a stringent review process to ensure the quality and safety of its products.” The representative also said that the process involves multiple inspections and approvals, including that of the USDA.
“The expiration date was still two months away! I checked online and found at least a dozen other people posting that their Lunchlys were moldy too,” Pansino said.
