When you have performed at the infamous Vatican in Rome, touring and performing in various cathedrals, concert halls and even the ancient ruins of Italy just last year, you could say that you are the real deal.
The LFHS music department is one of the most authentic yet special aspects of the high school; filled with an immense amount of talent. Every concert that is displayed here at LFHS is definitely worth seeing. Whether it is from the orchestra, band or choir, the grand amount of talent is evident within our halls.
Fortunately for the community, tonight the LFHS choir is performing their annual fall choral music concert to display their talents for the entirety of the Lake Forest community to hear.
Glee Club, Mixed Chorus/Select Singers, Balladiers/Concert Choir, and Foresters have been working tirelessly to perfect their performance tonight to kick off the choral music season. Foresters teaching assistant Rana Muratoglu expressed the diligence with regards to preparation in rehearsals for the concert.
“Students have spent over two months preparing these songs to perform for their friends and family at the concert. The musical practice has included sight reading, TA-led sectionals, and practicing uniformity with walking on and off the risers to make us seem more professional,” said Muratoglu.
The variety of music is evident within this concert ranging from a dissonant and melodic Whitacre lullaby, a complex Haydn baroque piece, and classic Queen hit. Select Singers/Mixed Chorus teachers assistant Adam Clayton specified how the support from the student body is crucial into shaping the success of the overall performance.
“Attending choir concerts is a great way to show support for the music department and for LFHS overall. The music that was selected for the Fall Concerts showcases LFHS choir’s advanced musical talent and all the hard work we have collectively put in for the preparation of the concert,” said Clayton.
It is evident that the music department displays a tremendous amount of effort within their concerts for audiences to enjoy. The Fall Choral Music Concert is certainly something you will not want to miss tonight at 7 p.m. in the RMA.
