Greg Simmons
Economics enthusiast, Diet Mt. Dew devotee, and Dave Matthews fanatic- these are just a few traits that help define distinguished teacher, Mr. Greg Simmons.

Mr. Simmons is well known through the LFHS community for his energetic and relatable teaching style. He teaches economics and African American Studies, bringing passion into every lesson.
One of the most appreciated parts of Mr. Simmon’s class is his emphasis on real-world connections. As a teacher, he goes far beyond standard material, using personal stories and lessons to light up the classroom, spark meaningful conversation, and, at times, a lively debate. His classroom is a place where learning feels alive.
“I like Mr. Simmo’s class because he brings real-world experience to back up what he teaches, and has a bold, straight-to-the-point, enthusiastic approach to many topics in economics, which makes Econ engaging, beneficial, and also fun,” said senior Gavin Gramza.
Alongside fellow Econ teacher Mr. Clegg, Mr. Simmons forms a powerhouse duo, shaping the course into an engaging and interactive part of a student’s day. Each unit of class is uniquely themed, ranging from decades to cartoons or niche video games. The animations and notes in Econ have never been more inviting.
Mr. Simmons loves to crack jokes while teaching and avoids rigid teaching styles. His students would describe his class as one filled with smiles and laughter. You can tell that he wants the best for his students and shows up for them inside and outside of class.
Simmons is a straightforward, no-nonsense teacher who doesn’t beat around the bush. He may sound intense, but his class is surprisingly lighthearted and full of humor.
Clio Stresser
Most commonly surrounded by smiling and laughing friends, junior Clio Stresser is an outgoing member of the LFHS community. Her contagious energy and natural sense of humor make people feel comfortable and make everyday moments fun. As a vibrant CROYA attendee, member of the Girls Cross Country Team, and employed outside of school, Stresser is devoted to everything she is a part of.

Stresser has been a member of LFXC since sophomore year, running in the early, hot summer mornings, all the way to the brisk October evenings. Whether it’s the annual night race or just a normal practice, Stresser brings the utmost enthusiasm to her teammates.
Teammate and friend Maddy Stell shared how Clio’s care and energy add to the team.
“Clio brings everyone together in XC, and she makes sure everyone’s included,” said Stell. “I always look forward to seeing her every day at practice.”
This team’s enthusiasm is carried through all facets of life. Her friends can always go to her for both a laugh, as well as honesty and comfort—being someone to count on for just about anything.
“Clio is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met,” said friend Eloise Castano. “She’s always there for a good laugh, but she’s also incredibly hardworking. There’s never a dull moment with her.”
Stresser can also be found at CROYA meetings and retreats. She has been on four retreats so far, fully embracing getting to know her peers and making new friends. Stresser serves as a welcoming person that anyone can talk to, and a role model for younger high schoolers.
In addition to her involvement with the LFHS community, Stresser is very committed to her work outside of school. She has shown leadership skills through various roles where she has worked as a counselor at Lake Forest youth camps, Fannie May Chocolate, and others. Stresser is a dependable and dedicated leader and friend, and consistently puts others before herself.
Ceci Marshall
Sophomore Ceci Marshall is a talented athlete and a positive force within the LFHS community. As just a sophomore, she is the only member of her class to make the varsity volleyball team. Her teammates and friends describe her as kind, funny, and hardworking, whether she’s on the court or in the classroom.

Senior teammate Kaia Pienkosz emphasized Ceci’s dedication and character. “Ceci always knows how to lift the team’s spirits while still being one of the hardest workers. Even as the youngest on the team, she’s a leader you can always count on,” she said.
Her friends describe her as someone who never fails to make them laugh and as a great person to be around.
“Ceci has shown me how to be a better person and filled my life with laughter and love,” sophomore best friend Francesca Nottoli said. “She’s one of the kindest and most loyal people I know.”
More friends and classmates notice Ceci for her positivity and energy. “Ceci is one of the most genuine and kind people I know. She’s someone anyone can turn to, especially when they need a laugh or support,” said sophomore friend Sienna Walsh.
Ceci has become a smiling face around school and a hardworking presence at practice. She consistently brings effort, determination, and a positive attitude to everything she does, whether it’s in the classroom, at practice, or spending time with friends. Her ability to stay motivated, support others, and uplift the people around her has made her a respected and valued member of the LFHS community. As she continues through high school, her influence is only expected to grow, both as an athlete and as a person.
Will Lancaster
Known as “Lanc” amongst his friends, senior Will Lancaster is one of the most comical and genuine people to know. Lancaster is a carefree and nonchalant individual. He brings the California sunshine to LFHS that he grew up with in the Bay Area.
Transferring into LFHS sophomore year, Lancaster quickly adapted to the culture and community that exists here. Lancaster’s three older sisters, Bridget, Natalie, and Hailey, are positive influences in his life, as is his dog, Cody.

Lancaster has been an asset to the Scouts Lacrosse team as a fast athlete and a humorous teammate. Others appreciate his warmhearted nature and attentive character. As his senior season approaches, he will become a valuable leader on the team.
“Lanc is a chill dude who always shows up and is always in for a good time,” said senior Dylan Cran. “He can make you laugh without even trying.”
Lancaster’s efforts towards the ones he admires most never go unnoticed. He consistently does things for others, even when they may not have asked. It’s those small gestures that make all the difference.
“After my intramural basketball win, I left my sweatpants at the school. Lanc, being the person he is, kindly dropped them off at my doorstep, even though I said that I could pick them up,” said senior Vail Bayly.
It’s people like Lancaster that make you appreciate how special our school community really is.
“Will Lancaster is more than just a friend—he is a role model for all of Lake Forest High School,” said senior Tommy Demetrio.
JD Walters
When it comes to being a freshman, coming out of your shell can be difficult, but freshman James, aka JD, Walters, stands out as someone who can be himself in every situation. If you know JD, you are guaranteed some sort of joke every day. He is truly a natural comedian in the best way. JD’s personality and energy are unmatched, and many of his classmates admire that.

JD is involved at LFHS and is one of two freshmen on the varsity golf team. The last time they took a freshman on the team was in 2018. His dedication to the sport is obvious as he is always training and preparing to be a better player. There is no doubt that when he plays tennis this spring, he will be an asset to the team.
“He had an incredible freshman year… he was a huge part of the team’s success this year.
I love that he never gets too down if he has a bad hole and is always fighting to shoot a good score,” said varsity golf Coach Jim Matheson.
JD takes Robotics at LFHS and is constantly bringing passion and spark to every project. He loves to make conversation with everyone, not just those in his group. He has a passion for people that seems to stick out greatly.
“JD really runs the room, and he always has something hilarious to say,” said senior Nate Simutis.
Although JD is young, he is able to have a large impact on people at LFHS. Whether it’s cracking a joke and making everyone laugh or showing his dedication in sports and in school, JD is guaranteed to make your day a little better.
