- Butterburger Hoops (3-0)
Butterburger started the season with two dominant wins in the first week, and then followed it up with another 23-18 win against Track and Freak. So far, Butterburger is looking like the team to beat this year.
2. Puck Bandits (1-0-1)
After a big win against Belt Boyzzz Elite in Week 1, Puck Bandits tied with Team P.I.G in a very intense game. Early on, Puck Bandits have shown that they are a physical team who isn’t afraid to shoot a couple threes. The senior team led by Stephen Cole and Will Frentzas is off to a promising start.
3. Lizard Kings (1-0)
Last season, the Lizard Kings proved that they were one of the best teams in the league. This year they have some roster changes, but have still had the same success. Last Sunday, they were able to beat the Pink Panthers off of a late three from Chris Lindemann. The use of a non-rostered player in week one held this team back from being 2-0.
4. Team P.I.G (1-0-1)
After their recent tie to the Puck Bandits, this team shows that they have the ability to battle with some of the top teams in the league. However, barely getting past the Milkmen in Week 1 is what holds them back from higher ranks.
5. Bearcats (2-0)
Being undefeated in the intramural league is impressive for any team. The Bearcats have shown that they have the ability to win games, but have had a weak strength of schedule so far. Barely beating Track and Freak and then winning against Juggernauts doesn’t provide a lot of evidence that this is a top team. As they start to face tougher opponents, it will be interesting to see where they end up.
6. Belt Boyzzz Elite (1-1)
After a very disappointing Week 1 loss to Puck Bandits, the Belt Boyzzz were able to bounce back with a win against the SRC Hooligans. So far, this team is yet to show anything past mediocrity early into the season. With lots of games left to be played, there still leaves several opportunities for this team to improve their rank.
7. Track and Freak (0-2)
Despite starting 0-2, this roster has been knocking on the door of victories. They took a close loss to the Bearcats in the first week, and then lost by five to the very powerful Butterburger Hoops. While Track and Freak is yet to add to the win column, they are showing they are capable of doing so.
8. The Milkmen (1-1)
A late opportunity was missed for the Milkmen to catch a Week 1 win, but they did not let that stop them. They were able to come back the following week and defeat the Magic Johnsons, a sophomore-led, out-of-league team. A loss and then a narrow victory against a sophomore team isn’t the best way to start the season, but never count the Milkmen out when it comes to creating some upsets.
9. Pink Panthers (0-2)
The Pink panthers are another team that have had some early struggles. They are going into Week 3 hoping to change that after a devastating loss to the Lizard Kings. This team has shown flashes of talent mainly coming from Sohil Purohit, but will need a full team effort to shift their season.
10. Juggernauts (0-2)
The Juggernauts are yet to showcase any life after back to back blowouts to the Bearcats and Butter Burger Hoops. With an upcoming game against Lizard Kings, it is looking like the team may come up short again. But with the new addition of Dylan Knutson, they could possibly pull off some upsets.
