Study Spots for Final Exams

Study+Spots+for+Final+Exams

Final exams can be a really be stressful for high school students with vigorous hours of study guides, re-reading past units and cumulative assessments. Finding the best place to study free of distractions and temptations to procrastinate is not always easy. Here’s our top 4 suggestions:

Lake Forest Public Library

Lots of students enjoy studying at the Lake Forest Public Library. The public library provides snacks for students during finals week. There are always lots of LFHS students using the library. The library offers great hours from From 9-9 Monday-Thursday, 9-6 on Friday, 9-5 on saturday and  1-5 on sunday. The library has many different study spots and hours to accommodate most students. Sometimes it’s popularity can make it hard to find a space to study.

Tala coffee – Highwood

Tala coffee is also a great place to study with it’s calming and stress free environment. It’s a bit farther out with it’s location in Highwood, but overall its pretty great atmosphere to get a lot of studying done this weekend / next week!  You may not see as many familiar faces there, but that may help you stay distraction-free. And, they have plenty of great hot drinks and snacks to keep you motivated.

Starbucks – Lake Forest Town

Starbucks in uptown Lake Forest is always a go to for its’ great environment. It’s a great spot not just for working alone, but also collaborating in groups. With it’s iconic drinks, sweet treats and convenient location, students enjoy going to Starbucks when they need to focus and refuel.

Lake Bluff Library

The Lake Bluff Library is a more off-the-beaten-path place to study, With less of a crowd headed into Lake Bluff you are always guaranteed to find a table. Even though they do not provide snacks during finals week, you are sure to get undisturbed studying done at the Lake Bluff Library with room to spread out. Hours are more limited: M-Th 10-9, F. 10-6, Sat 10-5 and Sunday 1-5.

Overall, there are many different types of local options for you to get the final hours of studying in. Good luck on finals scouts!

The Lake Bluff Public Library actually hosted its first Teen Finals Week series this month — with snacks! Our meeting rooms were/are open every day from Saturday 12/16 through tomorrow reserved for teens and they are supplied with snacks, supplies and lots of room for studying. Keep an eye out on our library’s online calendar of events in the future!
