Talent Show 2024 is quickly approaching! The Committee had their first meeting on Nov. 29 and chose the theme – Camp Talent Show: The Talent Show Trail – 2024 Miles. Emcee auditions were held on Dec. 14. Now it’s time to focus on the acts.

So, who can audition, and what talent do I need for this adventure?

Well, it’s pretty simple, anyone can audition! The best talent shows result from a mix of fun and different acts.

“We’re all about variety, so bring your bands, solos, duets, dance routines, yo-yo tricks, comedy, magic acts, and anything else you’ve got,” Corey Holmer, Teacher Director of Talent Show, said.

But I’ve never been to Camp Talent Show before. What do I need to do to audition?

It’s simple! Just record a video of your act and send it in. If you have old performance videos, great! Just send those in. If you don’t already have a recording, use the winter break to record your act. Submit the videos by Jan. 20.

What happens after I climb this big audition hill?

After videos are submitted, a group of adults will watch the videos and select the lucky 18-20 acts. Then the real fun begins.

But why should I go to Camp Talent Show?

“[B]ecause it is such a fun experience and the people you meet are so talented and nice. It’s also really fun to perform on stage,” Fleury Robbins, Band Women Drummer and tech member, said.

“It is nearly impossible to achieve a similar performance experience unless you choose a career path in performing arts,” Klaudia Cygan, Pit Band Tenor Sax player, said.

“Talent show season is arguably the best time of the year. Ask anyone who is a part of it and they can tell you about how fun the entire process is … I have met some of my closest friends through Talent Show and some great alums who come back to help and become wonderful mentors. It brings everyone, not just people in theater, together for a whole month,” Milana Yanev, Creative and Technical Live Production Director, said.

So, get ready! Camp Talent Show is coming soon and it needs YOU! Get those audition tapes together and get them submitted. S’mores and sing-alongs, dance acts, and comedy – 2024 Miles is nothing when you have friends by your side, trail mix in your pocket, and the entire student body cheering you on.
