The upcoming LFHS Talent Show has a lot of diverse acts, but one thing that holds the entire show together is the Talent Show hosts. Whether they are singing badly to Harry Styles or driving around in mini cars, returning hosts from last year, Saige Joseph and Connor Boyle, are set to share creative sketches and an overall unique onstage dynamic.

The pair formally met while working on the Frosh-Soph play, but Joseph claims they met in swim lessons in elementary school. However, Boyle claims that never happened. Nevertheless, they have been inseparable ever since.

The partners in crime are back for year two after a successful 2022 show. It’s rare to see the same two people host Talent Show for two consecutive years.

“We had a lot of friends that were involved in Talent Show, and we heard about how much of a family it was,” said Boyle.

The two both wanted to be involved, but it “didn’t feel right to just do a random act.”

“Being emcees was an ideal way of using our experiences with comedy and theater,” said Boyle. “The position was a perfect fit for us.”

“Connor and Saige bring a nice variety to the show. Besides videos from new media, they are some of the only comedy acts,” said Corey Holmer.

Joseph was initially inspired to join theater because of her older brother, and Boyle has been involved with acting since he was in first grade.

“I have just always loved to perform,” said Boyle.

Their humor is undeniable on the stage. It comes naturally to the two because of their long-term friendship and close dynamic.

“They are some of the funniest people I know,” said junior Sophie Loicano. “Their dynamic when they perform is amazing; their passion and love for what they do shows whenever they are onstage.”

This year the two want to work on “not being just a couple of comedy acts, but a force that seamlessly combines all the acts.”

It’s a rare occasion for Talent Show emcees to be hosts two years in a row, so this year, Joseph and Boyle want to use this opportunity to note what went well and modify any slight mishaps.

“We definitely want to just have fun this year. Last year we were a bit stressed, but there is no point in being stressed about it. Being emcees is a really incredible opportunity, and Talent Show is a super fun thing to be a part of,” said Joseph.
