On Thursday, Lake Forest Boy’s Swimming and Diving is set to face off against the Wildcats at Libertyville High School. Needless to say, this is a big meet.

The Scouts are currently ranked 3rd in the North Suburban Conference (NSC) and 13th in the state. Libertyville trails right behind, ranking 4th in the NSC but over 50th in the state.

Varsity’s key swimmers for this meet are captains Sidd Ojha and James Bentley, senior Oleksa Zobkiv and sophomore Ben Longeway.

For JV, key swimmers include captain Wesley Michael, senior Jensen Borowski and junior Connell Sassen.

“We just gotta go in there and try our best; it’s going to be our last away meet ever. We gotta make the best of it,” Michael said.

Each year, it’s a close battle between Lake Forest and Libertyville. In the 2020-2021 season, Varsity managed to pull off the win, but JV suffered a close loss.

However, the Scouts managed to walk away with a win from this season’s other rival meet against Warren, and are looking to do the same with Libertyville.

“Lville is lacking this year,” Bentley said. “We’re going to use this meet to see where we are at in the season and see who makes sectionals.”
