On January 18th, 2018, many locations, including the popular Tilted Towers, were added to Fortnite, one of the most popular games in the world. However, with the release of Fortnite Chapter two, the location was removed. Now, exactly four years later, the infamous Tilted Towers has been brought back to the game, and fans are ecstatic about its return.

“I will definitely be getting back on to drop at Tilted Towers because it was the staple of the game back in 2018,” senior Nick Fontana said. “Going back there will remind me of some of the good times I’ve had on Fortnite with my friends.”

When Tilted Towers was added to Fortnite, it was instantly very popular. It came to the game along with other locations like Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores, and Haunted Hills. However, Tilted Towers stood out among the rest because of its size, being arguably the largest location on the map, and its loot, which was some of the best in the game.

“There were always a bunch of people at Tilted and there were also a bunch of awesome places to go if you wanted good loot as well,” senior Anthony Bosnjak said. “It was like the capital of the Fortnite map.”

Tilted Towers joined the game at one of the games’ best times. Popularity was increasing rapidly, and the gameplay was some of the best the game has had. This allowed many people to experience and enjoy Tilted.

“Tilted was my go to spot. After memorizing my route game after game, Tilted was a place where I created memories and experiences that I will never forget,” senior Quinn Mulligan said.

The location has many recognizable buildings that players will remember including the clocktower, apartment buildings, and the tallest brick building in the middle, which people nicknamed “Trump Tower”.

“My favorite location was the clocktower because no matter what, it becomes a free for all with pickaxes only,” senior Thibaut Sacherer said.

Tilted Towers was able to continue to stay popular among players of the game despite it not being in the game. This occurred with people paying tribute to the location and reminiscing on their memories on social media apps such as TikTok and Instagram.

“Tilted stayed popular because of the nostalgia that it brought,” Bosnjak said. “When Tilted was in the game, Fortnite was one of everyone’s favorite games.”

With the recent release of the third Chapter of Fortnite, many people are returning to the game and enjoying it.

“I will play again,” Horan said. “It will be very nostalgic and hopefully the game will be as fun as it used to be.”

As its player base increases and popular locations return to its map, Fortnite may be able to regain its once unheard of popularity, and have the squad hop on once again and say:

“Where we droppin boys?”
