LAKE FOREST ― Girls Varsity basketball head coach Kyle Wilhelm announced on Monday that he has stepped down as head coach of the Scouts after nine seasons with the team.

In the announcement, posted to the Girls Basketball Twitter account, Wilhelm cited a desire to spend more time with his family as his reason for stepping down.

Wilhelm was named the girl’s coach in 2011 after six years as head coach for Freshman and Sophomore basketball. He would go on to win 142 games, the most in the program’s history, and would lead the Scouts to three Regional championships in 2017, 2019, and 2020 and a Sectional championship in 2019. He was named the IBCA Head Coach of the Year in 2019.
