For the second time this year, a Lake Forest Scouts baseball senior has announced his commitment to play baseball for the next four years.

First, it was Breck Nowik, who announced his intentions to play at the University of Illinois-Chicago in mid-August, and now Michael Vallone has announced that he will play at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana for the next four years.

Many former Scouts athletes currently play at DePauw, like Andrew Athenson, who plays football and Ben Gibson, who plays basketball.

This is the not first Scouts baseball player to play for the Tigers, as back in 2017, Jason Cast committed to the university to play baseball.

“I just got a great feeling about the program they’re running there when I visited,” said Vallone.

In Vallone, the Tigers are getting a potential ace of their pitching staff. Over his first two Varsity seasons, the senior has compiled a 9-3 win-loss record with a 1.59 ERA.
