Evan Spezzano
Few students would deliberately volunteer to stay at school for upwards of 12 hours a day.
However, few students are like senior Evan Spezzano.
Since he was a freshman, Evan has spent these long hours working behind the scenes of every theater production. He has earned a reputation as a reliable problem solver.
When faced with adversity during The Importance of Being Earnest, Evan rose to the challenge and kept the show running properly. Despite the soundboard going out five minutes before the curtain time, he managed to get it up and running on time, while still staying level headed.
More recently, Evan has expanded from a small role with the EdTechs to an irreplaceable position.
“Evan is our unofficial EdTech. So during study hall, he was like our TA, coming in here and giving us student feedback,” EdTech Mr. Holmer said. “Now as a senior, he’s the director in most departments, and he’s the go-to, most knowledgeable tech kid that we have.”
Evan’s constant professionalism does not go unnoticed amongst his peers. His importance touches several lives across a multitude of productions.
“Evan is super supportive in theater. He’s never missed a rehearsal, and he’s an overall great guy to be around,” said friend and actor Cal Makins.
Even being a second semester senior, Evan is committed to sharing his knowledge with the next generation of theater students. His dedication to the program made him the “obvious pick” for the lead role in the spring musical, on the technical side of things.
With the Talent Show coming up in the next week, the acts gain most of the fame and publicity. While they are more than deserving of praise, those behind the scenes are often overlooked.
“Without him, Talent Show ‘26 would not happen,” said Holmer.
Caroline Demas
Lake Forest High School is filled with many kind and talented students, like sophomore Caroline Demas.
For her first year and a half as a Scout, Demas has participated in theater productions, volleyball, and music. Demas demonstrates a focused and positive attitude that not only motivates her castmates, but she also makes long rehearsals feel more enjoyable.
“I got close with Caroline during one acts and she has quickly become one of my favorite people. I love doing talent show with her and she honestly feels like an older sister,” freshman Mary Stevens said.
Not only does Demas shine with singing and acting, she also shines as a very academically motivated student who constantly studies to keep her straight A average.
When not onstage, Demas is often spotted at coffee shops or libraries studying and reviewing class material.
“I have AP seminar with her, and we have been in the same group for two different projects, and she is always on top of her part,” sophomore Aibhilin Helms said.
Demas is also a good friend to have by your side. Because she is an active listener to music, it helps her to become a very careful listener when it comes to a friend needing a shoulder to lean on, as well as the fact she is emotionally intelligent.
“her joyful and uplifting energy is contagious, and she is always there for you when you need to feel better,” junior Olivia Smith said.
It is clear Demas has positively impacted her peers through music and education, which makes her such an honorable person. I can positively say that whenever I am with her in rehearsal, she is always on top of her blocking and helping others. Demas always leaves your heart feeling warm and whenever you need advice with academics or singing tips, she is your girl.
Alexandra Carris
Junior Alexandra Carris, or Squeeze, is known for her bright and thrilling personality. Carris is on both Varsity basketball andsSoftball. Her impact on the teams is powerful and motivating.
“As a friend, Squeeze is very empathetic. She’s always there for me when I need it.” says sophomore Sienna Mameli, “As a teammate on the basketball team, she is the loudest one on the court. She is always ready to lend a hand when someone needs help. She is the team’s number 1 fan.”
Molly Fisher, Carris’ basketball assistant coach, appreciates Carris’ charming personality.
“Squeeze is one of the hardest working athletes I’ve ever gotten the chance to coach. She is the most spirited, supportive teammate. Having the opportunity to coach an athlete like Squeeze has allowed me to appreciate the game of basketball even more. Everyone deserves to have a teammate like Squeeze on their team,” Fisher says.
Her unique celebrations for each teammate in basketball games projects her ability to bring an energetic and positive attitude into everything she loves.
“Squeeze is the kind of teammate who makes the whole field better just by stepping on it. She’s clutch when it counts, loud when we need energy, and always the first one to have your back. We’re lucky she’s ours,” says senior Sophia Shader.
Not only is she a friendly face, but also a dedicated academic student. Qualifying every year for the class of 2027 Honor Roll reflects this. Carris’ dedication to her academics as well as her athletic role in the school shows her role model abilities that make her a great example of what it takes to be a true Scout.

Catie Ward
As the calendar inches closer to spring, lacrosse season is nearly underway. Sophomore Catie Ward is ready to attack the 2026 season.
Ward made Varsity lacrosse when she was just a freshman and had a huge impact on the 2025 team.
“On and off the field Catie is a great teammate,” Caption Phoebe Silver said. “She always makes an effort to get to know all the team. Catie is always looking for something fun to do after practice; she really makes our team bond.”
Being a freshman on Varsity lacrosse is a big deal and Ward has thrived on and off the field. Catie started her season last year playing attack for the Scouts, but she may be dabbling with some defense in the upcoming season.
“Catie is a utility player; she can play anywhere. She’s got solid stick skills and looking forward to her having another successful year,” Varsity lacrosse Coach Catanzaro said.
Senior captain Ellie Carter said she appreciates Catie’s ability to “lock in.”
“She may not be the loudest on the field, but her determination speaks louder than most. She will definitely an example for the class behind her,” senior captain Ellie Carter said.
Ward doesn’t just have lacrosse under her belt, she’s got the social skills as well. “I love hanging out with Catie. She’s just so fun and the best person to be around,” sophomore Poppy Bayly said.
Sam Lindstrand
With his calm and cool demeanor freshman Sam Lindstrand has a strong presence in the community. Sam has not only excelled in school, managing to make the honor roll his freshman year, but he is also involved in the school’s basketball team and is a future member of the boys tennis team.
“He is selfless and kind,” said Sam’s sister, Reese.
Sam has helped lead and play basketball for our school’s freshman A team. Sam doesn’t just limit himself to playing during the school season and practices; he has been playing club basketball for three years. Sam puts in the work beyond what is asked and expected of him and sports.
“He always has a calm mindset no matter what challenge he is facing,” Reese said.
Outside of Sam’s passion for basketball, he is a very skilled guitar player. While not having any formal lessons, Sam managed to teach himself an impressive amount of songs and skills on the guitar.
Sam’s dedication and hard work shines through his skills in not just basketball, but his dedication to teach himself and continue learning an instrument practicing on the regular.
