Taylor Swift’s new album ‘The Life of A Show Girl’ was finally released on October 3, 2025. With much anticipation, Swifties at LFHS and worldwide listened very intently––some with excitement and others with mixed emotions. Now that it’s been three weeks since its debut, students have more to say on these new songs, revealing whether they have added them to their playlists or moved onto other artists’ music.
Her new album sold 2.7 million copies on its first day––a remarkable achievement, building on a career background of nearly 200 million albums sold worldwide and 14 grammy awards. On Spotify the ‘The Life of A Show Girl’ became the most-streamed album in a single day, achieving this new record in under 11 hours.
At LFHS, her new album has sparked frequent conversations and even some arguments. With some students liking all of her tracks, and others preferring some standout songs.
A few students, including junior Brynn Bennett, said they were disappointed by the lyrics.
“I don’t really like it because I think the lyrics aren’t as good as her other songs. Each song sounds very similar. I also feel like the titles of the songs don’t match very well with the actual song. However, I do like a few like The Fate of Ophelia,” Bennett said.
‘The Life of A Show Girl’ is Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album. This new album draws inspiration from life on tour as well as offstage, including her emotions and her relationship with Travis Kelce.

The top 3 songs being listened to the most on her new track are The Fate of Ophelia, Opalite, and Elizabeth Taylor. While some students were underwhelmed, others have enjoyed exploring the album and picking their favorite songs.
“I listen to more of Taylor Swift’s older albums, but I did like some of this new album. I think that the top songs that are trending on tiktok and other platforms are pretty good and catchy,” Junior Mia Morse said.
Even teachers at LFHS are outwardly stating their opinions, and some even play her music in their classrooms.
“I’ve always loved Taylor Swift, and I really like her new album, especially Fate of Ophelia. Since I am an English teacher I like how the songs draw on Shakespeare themes,” Mrs. Halkias stated.
Beginning at age 9, Taylor Swift started taking voice and acting lessons in New York City. She focused on country music, and she was inspired by Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks. When she was 12, she learned how to play the guitar from a man named Ronnie Cremer; this led her to write her first song “Lucky You.” Since then, Taylor has grown into a global superstar.
Whether Swifties love or dislike these new tracks, this album has already made a powerful impression worldwide. It’s bringing students together to talk about her music and breaking records along the way.
