This year’s Final Four is set to take place this weekend, and for the first time since 2008, and only the second time ever, there will be four #1 seeds competing. The remaining three games will take place in the Alamodome in San Antonio, the first being Florida taking on fellow SEC team Auburn, and the second being Duke against Houston. Tomorrow should be an excellent day for college basketball fans. Each team has won 4 games to reach the pinnacle of the college basketball stage.
Why each team can win
Auburn Tigers
The Auburn Tigers will win the tournament because of their balanced efficiency. Auburn is one of few teams this year that ranked in the top 10 on both offense and defense. They also have a lot of experience in their locker room with Coach Bruce Pearl and National Player of the Year contender Johni Broome.
Houston Cougars
The Houston Cougars will win the tournament with their electrifying defense that leads to very good transition offense and above average three-point shooting. The Cougars shot nearly 40% from three this season led by Milos Uzan (44.5%).
Florida Gators
The Florida Gators can win it all because of their explosive offense coupled with their high-power offense. The Gators are averaging more than 85 points a game in the tournament so far and have held opponents to 69.7 points per game this season. With a win over back-to-back national championships Uconn in the Sweet Sixteen, the Gators proved they are capable of winning big games in the tournament.
Duke Blue Devils
The Duke Blue Devils have championship potential because they are simply the best team in college basketball. They have the best player in the country in Cooper Flagg as well as the deepest bench led by five star Isaiah Evans. Duke has looked unbeatable recently, winning their Elite Eight against #2 seed Alabama by 20 points.
