A Varsity Vanguard: Quinn Brown

A varsity tennis player, golfer, and aspiring businessman, Quinn Brown has done it all under the wing of the Scouts. Since his freshman year, Quinn has been a part of numerous sports and clubs and has a resume that seems to keep on building every year. His brand new endeavor that just recently debuted within the past year is Finance Club. Quinn is the founder and guides dozens of potential up-and-coming financiers to success.

“Brown’s Ability to co-run our finance club is unparalleled to any other member’s ability,” said Finance Club Executive Board Member Will Quigley. “He is constantly outperforming other board members when it comes to preparing and running meetings, and his commitment and interest in the subject is fascinating and contagious to others in the club.”

Brown shares his perspective on his hard work and dedication inside and outside of the classroom.

“I’ve learned that when you put in time and effort not everything is going to go perfectly how you want it, but some things are gonna pay off,” Brown said.

He also adds that he practices “three days a week for his sports in the off-season” to maintain his ability.

“Brown is a valuable player and a great asset to the team, he always shows up, works hard, and is a dependable guy,” says junior teammate Powell Brickman.

The athlete hasn’t only participated in golf and tennis, though. Throughout his childhood, Brown played pretty much everything. Travel soccer, baseball, and basketball are just a few of the other sports he has played, but coming into high school, he knew he had to focus on just a couple.

“I realized high school tennis was in the spring and baseball was too. I knew I had to go all out on tennis,” Quinn said.

Rising to the upperclassmen role this year in varsity tennis, Brown hopes to become a natural leader and mentor the guys younger than him.

Brown says his most memorable sports experiences were “winning the individual JV golf conference as a sophomore by three strokes” and in tennis “going to Buffalo Wild Wings with the varsity team both freshman and sophomore year”.

“Although I’ve made some great memories in my career on the court, I really enjoy interacting with my awesome teammates as well.”

Ultimately, Brown’s message is to “try and do as many things as possible and have as many experiences as you can.”
