Every year, the Lake Forest High School Foundation grants thousands of dollars to better the education and experience of LFHS students, teachers, and staff.

“We hope LFHS teachers, administrators, staff, and students are thinking up big ideas that will have a positive and lasting impact on the educational experiences offered at LFHS. Please consider applying for a grant if you have an innovative idea and you need support to bring it to life,” LFHS Foundation said.

Grants can be to support clubs, classes, and so much more.

This past year, 12 grants were awarded including video gear for The Forest Scout, graphing calculators for math classes, driver hubs & batteries for both robotics classes and the Robotics Team, the enclosed plasma cutter for The Arts and Applied Tech Departments, and finally the  School Innovation and Improvement Planning Team (SIIP) was granted tuition to the Leaning Forward Annual Conference.

In order to qualify for consideration, the Foundation asks that applicants consider their “& Key Criteria” including:

  1. Does the grant application fit within our mission? Our mission statement: To support, enrich, and enhance the educational experience for all Lake Forest High School students, faculty, and staff by investing in educational excellence.
  2. How many students will be impacted by this grant? Consider expected enrollment for the specific class(es) as well as how this grant impacts areas outside of the department.
  3. Total cost of grant?
  4. Cost/Benefit Comparison: Divide cost of grant by number of students impacted by grant.
  5. % Foundation funds that have been allocated to this department in previous years. Take into consideration whether it will impact a core, elective or “other” department as well.
  6. Donor Appeal: How will this grant make a difference in improving education at LFHS? Would our donors view this grant as worthy of their donation?
  7. Potential Collaboration: Is there a possibility of collaborating with another organization for funding? (LFLBLDA, APT, Boosters, Applause, PALS, Student Council, Senior Class, LFHS, a corporation, etc.)

The application deadline of Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. is rapidly approaching. Get your Grant Applications in soon! Apply here.
