In a UFC rematch on Saturday, January 23, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor fought Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.

The fight was held on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi due to the pandemic in front of a crowd of limited spectators.

Conor Mcgregor was a huge fan favorite and favored Vegas as well. Back in 2014, Mcgregor beat Poirier in 90 seconds, but this time things were different.

Mcgregor and his supporters were stunned by the second round TKO coming from Dustin Poirier. Poirier came out strong and confident beating McGregor in the second round in extreme fashion

His defeat is most likely due to his lack of action in the past year. McGregor has been vocal about this issue and has been quoted saying “I’ve got four fights left on this contract with the UFC… I’d do it in the first quarter of 2021 if they give me the dates.”

McGregor is not backing down from anything and wants to prove again that he is the best and belongs on top. This fight for McGregor seems humbling and will be to drive him to make 2021 an outstanding year for himself and the UFC.
