Thursday’s 13: Danny Fisher

Thursdays 13: Danny Fisher

Kean O'Connor

Danny Fisher is a Senior at LFHS and was a member of varsity golf team. Danny plans to continue his passion for golf next year at Miami University.

When and why did you start playing golf?

I didn’t really take golf seriously until probably 8th grade or Freshman year. I was interested in it because it was a sport where you have to be meticulous and thoughtful with every step.

What was your most memorable moment on the golf team?

Individually, probably winning conference this year. I shot a 67. Overall, I would say our Runner-Up State finish last year was exciting. It was really cool to play under all that pressure coming down the stretch.

What’s the hardest part about the sport?

I think staying focused for the duration of a round can be difficult. Having enough  mental stamina is really key out there. Also, not letting a poor shot get in the way of your next one, because compounding errors on the course is easy to do.

What are you looking forward to about playing in college?

I am looking forward to continuing my golf career for four more years at a place that I would probably go to anyway, without golf. Also, playing golf at that level will be cool to see where my game stacks up against some of the best in the country.

What is one goal you have for next year’s season at Miami University?

I think to get into the starting lineup would be nice, being a consistent scorer. As a team, hopefully we can win a MAC Championship and head towards the NCAA’s.

What is your biggest fear?

Getting trapped in a crowd and not being able to get out.

If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be?

Tiger Woods during his prime, like 2003. He was on top of his game and it must’ve been interesting dealing with all the press on a daily basis.

What’s your favorite movie?

The Shawshank Redemption. It has everything you’d like in a movie, from emotion to action.

If you didn’t have to sleep what would you do with your extra time?

I’d still probably sleep, it is enjoyable. A time travel to breakfast.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Individuals who walk really slow in the hallway.

If you could be one animal what would you be?

A bird. I would probably just fly to an event going on like a concert or sport and get the best seat in the house.

If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?

I’d probably change it to Ron. Just has a ring to it.

Driver or putter?

Drive for show. Putt for dough. So, Driver.
