DEERFIELD, Ill.– This past Monday, the Boys Water Polo team took down Deerfield with a score of 16-7. This was the team’s second win this season, rendering them undefeated.
The scoring was evenly distributed in this matchup, with seniors Will Paschke and Charlie Mickey scoring thrice and sophomore Greg Damidot achieving the coveted double brace (four goals). Harmon Raft, Andrew Gherlein, and Andre Josephitis also chipped in, scoring two goals apiece. Gherlein told TFS, “The more guys scoring, the better. That’s how you know we’re playing well as a team.”
Once again, however, the defensive play propelled the Scouts to victory. Goalies Charlie Capps and Michael Rourke played absolutely outstanding, allowing just seven goals out of dozens of shots.
Varsity Boys Water Polo will head to Maine West High School for a tournament this Saturday. Be sure to come out and watch the lads defend their winning streak!
