LAKE FOREST, Ill.–After a junior season in which he saw very little varsity action, senior Ben Gibson earned himself the right to play. Using the weight room and an empty gym, Gibson developed his skills thoroughly last summer and it showed this season, leading the Scouts in total scoring, field goal percentage, and points per game in the 2017-18 season, ultimately culminating in All-North Suburban Conference recognition for the 6’5 combo guard/forward.
Gibson, who is still pursuing Division III basketball options despite having suffered a season-ending leg injury, joins nine other NSC competitors on the ten-man All-Conference roster. Over the course of the season, Gibson averaged better than 15 points per game, with a career-high 32 coming in the Scouts’ biggest win of the season, a triple overtime thriller against Libertyville at East Campus.
