Coach Ray Del Fava has put together a solid schedule for his 2018 baseball team that will be among the most competitive slates on the North Shore. Aside from competition against traditional NSC stalwarts like Libertyville, Stevenson, who the Scouts will play in their first series after returning from their annual spring trip to Myrtle Beach, and Mundelein, Lake Forest plays a few intriguing non-conference match-ups as well.
On the weekend of April 7 and 8, the Scouts will host Central Suburban League-South opponents Niles West and Evanston on back-to-back days at West Campus. In addition to that, Del Fava’s bunch will showcase its talents against the Notre Dame Dons–who are always competitive–and Prospect, a strong Mid Suburban League team, on back-to-back weekend days on April 27 and 28 after a series against Lake Zurich that week.
The Scouts’ only road non-conference games this year will be trips to Barrington (May 12) and Deerfield (May 18) near the end of the season. With their home schedule working to their benefit, Del Fava and the Scouts are looking to solidify themselves as one of the top teams on the North Shore.
