The flag football season is already in full swing and has started practice for their big state tournament on November 4th at Halas Hall. The Scouts’ flag team has won the state championship two times, in 2013 and 2015, while placing second last year. This is familiar territory for captains Cade Coughlin, Andrew Gough, Frank Phillips, and Jason Amari. In reference to this year’s roster, Coughlin mentioned, “There is a lot of athleticism this year. Many guys came out and we are a team that has plenty of athletes.”
The team takes pride in what they do and senior leader Andrew Gough argues that the team is taking a serious approach to bringing home another trophy to LFHS. “There is intensity in practice, we do a good job simulating the actual tournament environment,” added Gough, a senior.
The flag football team, despite its lack of IHSA affiliation, is a school sport that needs to be recognized. Anyone who can make the tournament in November is encouraged to make the trip down the street at the Chicago Bears practice facility located in west Lake Forest.

Andrew Gough, Jason Amari and Frank Phillips: These three captains have been in this position before and know what to expect the have a solid team presence.
Players to watch:
Peter Carney, Peter Janotta, Dewar Prom, and Ethan Talbot haven’t been on the team in the past, but are all athletic and bring potential for the tournament.
