The Scouts closed Week Two with a tough 51-7 loss at home to Carmel.
The first half of the game was close, with the Scouts’ defense containing the high-powered Corsairs’ offense. Senior Adler Schlacher led the team in tackles; trailing close behind was senior Ethan Farell, who played a strong defensive game.

To round out the defense, senior captain Aedan Cassidy blew past the line for a sack. The Scouts will look for their strong defense to bounce back as they play Warren this Friday.
The Scouts closed the first half trailing 21-7. Just before the last drive, a pivotal blow struck the team. One of the team leaders suffered a season-ending injury.
Senior captain Jimmy Scheidler set a standard for future players to remember. Even though his season was cut short, he will continue to support his team from the sidelines and even throw out iconic celebrations from time to time.
Heading into the second half, the Scouts’ offense struggled to add points to the board. Third and long and three-and-outs were consistent during the second half. The Scouts need to improve in these areas as they face Warren in a tough road test.
Now, with Jack Berger and Jimmy Scheidler sidelined by injury, the Scouts will continue to use two-way player and senior captain James Elliott. Senior Gavin Nelson will also be utilized on both offense and defense this week. The team will count on these two players to perform with intensity and guide the Scouts towards a win.
Stay tuned for Friday’s game as eyes will be on defensive players Farrell, Cassidy, and Schlacher, and all-around players Elliott and Nelson. This week’s challenge will be to keep the momentum on offense while adjusting to recent injuries.
The Scouts are ready to bounce back this Friday at Warren High School. Come and support as they aim to get back to their winning ways.
