The Scouts closed week two with a tough loss at home, with the final score of 51-7.
The first half of the game was close- defense maintained doing their job in the beginning. Senior Adler Schlacher led the team in tackles, and trailing close behind was senior Ethan Farell who also, presented a strong defensive game.

To round out the defense, senior captain Aedan Cassidy blew past the line for a sack. The Scouts will look for their strong defense to bounce back as they play Warren this Friday.
When the Scouts had the ball, they closed the half with a score of 21-7. Just before the last drive, a pivotal blow struck the team. A key player who is effective on both offense and defense got injured.
Senior captain Jimmy Scheidler set a standard for future players to remember. Even though his season was cut short, he will continue to support his team from the sidelines, and even throw out iconic celebrations from time to time.
Heading into the second half, the Scouts offense struggled to add points to the board. Third and long, and three and outs were consistent during the second half. Going into the season’s third game, the Scouts look to break the pattern and leave last week’s mistakes behind as they face Warren on their home field.
Now, with two key players sidelined by injury, the Scouts will continue to use two way player, and senior captain James Elliott. Senior Gavin Nelson will also be utilized on both offense and defense this week. The team will count on these two players to perform with intensity, and guide the Scouts towards a win.
Stay tuned for Friday’s game as eyes will be on defensive players, Farrell, Cassidy, and Schlacher, and all around players Elliott and Nelson.This week’s challenge seems to be keeping a momentum on offense while adjusting to recent injuries.
