The best part of the summer—the farmers markets.
Luckily for us, there are plenty of good farmer’s markets in the area. Whether you’re a weekly regular or you’ve never been to one in your life, here are the markets that I find myself coming back to again and again.
Lake Bluff Farmers Market
Located in uptown Lake Bluff, the Farmers Market runs every Friday from 7 a.m. to noon, from June 6th to October 10th. From flowers and pastries to dog treats, you can get all your farmers market go-tos without having to leave your town. While this market may be smaller than others in the area, each vendor helps make the visit impeccable.

Evanston Farmers Market
Located at University Avenue at Oak Street, behind the Hilton Garden Inn, this farmers market may be farther away—but it is well worth the trip . It features the largest variety in the area and often includes live performers as well. Free parking is available with validation at the main market tent, and since the market is right next to the parking garage, getting there is easy. The market runs every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for general admission starting May 3rd.

MainStreet Libertyville Farmers Market
Now celebrating its 45th year, the Libertyville Farmers Market begins Thursday, May 29th, and runs through October 16th. The market is open every Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except on June 12th. Located in Cook Memorial Park and along West Church Street, this Farmers Market is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a locally sourced breakfast or lunch. Plus, parking in downtown Libertyville is free.

Elawa Farm Garden Market
This market is the smallest of all and is set up a bit differently compared to the others— but it still has plenty to offer. While it offers local produce and flowers, Elawa Farm’s market features a variety of unique artisan goods. The market began on May 9th and will continue through October 25th. It runs Fridays and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is also a great market for those who want to enjoy other aspects of Elawa Farm.
