We know better than anyone that seniors are losing motivation. So, the way that we continue to keep our spirits high is by making a list of things to be excited about in these last few weeks of high school! Although everyone is looking forward to June 7th, there are lots of events between now and then that allow us to enjoy high school while we are still in it.
Decision Day – May 1st
Although it may seem like your average school day with many college t-shirts, decision day is a day that many high school seniors will never forget. The celebration of everyone’s hard work paying off is both exciting and sentimental! This day will be full of smiles and excitement. Seeing where everyone in our class is going will be so rewarding to see, and is definitely something that we are looking forward to.
Ditch Day – May 16th
The annual cubs game ditch day is an infamous LFHS tradition that seniors look forward to. We are crossing days off our calendar until this day arrives – only one month away! Taking the train together, sitting in the bleachers, and cheering on one of the best Chicago sports teams as a grade is simply an experience that can’t be beat! Thinking about this day is motivation enough to keep working hard until it arrives.
Prom – May 17th
The last high school dance! Senior prom is a night to remember. The last red carpet, pre parties, and finding the perfect formal wear. The last time that you will be on a dance floor surrounded by your high school peers! Although it may be sad that it is the last dance, senior prom is definitely a date to look forward to, mark your calendars for May 17th!
Front Lawn Campfire – May 28th
The night before the last day of school, seniors gather on the front lawn together to have a campout before their final day. Seniors will build a fire, post some tents and roast marshmallows for a wholesome night all together. We are looking forward to the calmness of this night, amidst the crazy final weeks of class!
Senior Sunrise – May 29th
A classic LFHS tradition, the senior sunrise is one that we are sure many seniors are looking forward to already. As seniors gather together at LF beach similar to the first day of school, spirits and emotions will be high as we brave the last day of school together! Even though it is an early wakeup call, the experience will be something that no one will forget, and it is definitely a day on our calendars that we cannot wait for!
Senior Breakfast – May 29th
Following the early wakeup call from the sunrise, the senior breakfast will have everyone fueled and ready to go for our last day. Although it may seem like a minor event, we know that the last day of school will be filled with many emotions, and the senior breakfast will be a great way to hangout and reflect before parading the halls with our friends one last time!
