Sept. 13 was THE day to be a Scout.
Not only did the Varsity Football Team beat Warren Township for the first time in 13 years, but the student section was the best that I have seen in my four years at LFHS.
Bursts of yellow dust were sent into the air as powder poppers exploded. The floor beneath us rattled as music blasted through the speakers. Every student yelled in unison as the coordinated chants echoed across Varsity Field.
The school spirit was cohesive and undeniable, not only spreading joy throughout the student section, but simultaneously encouraging the football team to perform with excellence.
This is the type of chaos that is born from pure love for our community and school spirit from our students. It’s something that is built through traditions, the wins and losses, and the shared experience of being a Scout. It is genuinely something that I believe can not be replicated anywhere else.
That night, I had multiple students come up to me, of all different grades, telling me that this was the most fun they have ever had at a school football game.
This was a moment that proved to me that Scout Nation’s actions have a lasting impact on students.
This year looked a little bit different for Scout Nation, as sponsor Julie Crouch took part in creating the first-ever Executive Board. I felt so lucky to have been named the first President of Scout Nation, and with this responsibility, I feel personally obligated to leave the club in good hands.
Having a strong Scout Nation leadership team is essential to keeping the spirit of students, athletes, and community members alive — it upholds the culture of LFHS and ensures that future generations of Scouts are able to experience that same energy I felt on Sep. 13 and at all the other games.
The leadership roles that are offered include President, Vice President of Communications, Vice Chair of Communications, Vice President of Special Events, Vice Chair of Special Events, and Student Section Senior Leaders.
If you’re someone who is passionate about their school spirit or wants to make a difference at LFHS, I strongly encourage you to apply.
Applications to be part of Scout Nation’s Executive Board are live now, and are open until Monday, April 28th. Click this link to apply!
