Starbucks introduced its new Spring drinks on March 4. Being big fans of Starbucks, we couldn’t help but try them out! In this review, we will be rating four of the new seasonal drinks.

Iced Cherry Chai Latte

Kiley: I was initially skeptical of this drink because I thought the cherry and chai combination would give the drink a weird taste, but I was pleasantly surprised. The latte was sweet but not overpowering. It was a unique combo, but not a bad one, and it spiced up the plain latte flavor by adding the cherry. However, I didn’t like the foam on top. I would rate this drink an 8/10.

Harper: I was unsure about the fruity addition to the iced chai latte, but I was very surprised by how much I liked this drink. The original chai drink is very good, but the cherry cold foam added a little twist that was delicious. The combo wasn’t sweet on sweet, like it normally is for caffeinated beverages, and for that, I really liked the difference in fruity-sweet. I would rate this drink a 10/10.

Lavender Oat Milk Latte

Kiley: This drink was fine, but honestly, just kind of boring. I couldn’t taste the lavender in it, and the caffeine taste was super bitter. The drink wasn’t necessarily bad, it was just underwhelming. It needed something to spice it up or to balance things out. I don’t really like lattes, though, so I don’t think I’ll be getting this drink again. I would rate this drink a 4/10.

Harper: At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this drink. When I go to Starbucks, I usually get a latte, so I knew it would automatically have some points. However, I wasn’t sure about the lavender mix. I’m already not a fan of the scent. At first, you can’t taste the lavender in the drink, but at some point, it takes over the coffee taste. I wouldn’t normally order this drink, but it was fun to try at least once. I would rate this drink a 6/10.

Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher

Kiley: My go-to at Starbucks is a Strawberry Acai Lemonade, so I was excited to try this drink. And to my expectations, I really liked it. It’s totally different flavor from the Strawberry Acai, but in a good way. You can taste the blackberry, but can’t really taste the sage. And it’s definitely better with lemonade than water. I could go without the blackberry pieces, though.  I would rate this drink a 9/10.

Harper: I thoroughly enjoy the drinks at Starbucks that contain lemonade and fruit, so I had really high expectations for this. The blackberry flavor was strong and was clearly different from the Strawberry Acai Lemonade and Cherry Lemonade. I was refreshed and happy after drinking this drink. My only thing is I don’t really like blackberries, so getting a piece in my sip wasn’t very pleasant. I would rate this drink an 8/10.

Iced Lavender Cream Oat Milk Matcha

Kiley: This drink was disgusting. The second I tasted it, I wanted to throw up. I’m not a fan of matcha in general, and with the lavender, it was even worse. I didn’t like the foam either, which added to the gross taste. Additionally, the aftertaste was so terrible. I will say the drink is definitely different, and for that, I’m giving it a point. But overall, it is horrible. I would rate this drink a 1/10.

Harper: I really don’t like matcha or the lavender flavor, so I had low expectations for this drink. To my surprise, the lavender cold foam eliminated the taste of grass from the matcha, and it was a lot tastier than I thought. However, the drink had a weird texture that I couldn’t get behind. I probably wouldn’t order again. There’s a lot of flavors going on, but if you like matcha, this is definitely for you. I would rate this drink a 6/10.
