Lake Forest High School, please welcome Mr. Pete Del Fava. While Del Fava has been a part of our district for a number of years, he has just recently joined us at East Campus. For the last three years, he has been working at West Campus in their special education transitions program.
Many of you probably know Mr. Ray Del Fava, who is a part of our English department, baseball, and golf programs. Mrs. Elizabeth Del Fava is also a long-time Scout who works in the front office as an administrative assistant.
Like his father, Pete Del Fava is a jack of all trades. He is a part of our education staff as well as a coach. He is a teacher’s assistant in special education courses, Algebra 2, and also Integrated Math. Del Fava is Assistant Coach of JV Boys Basketball, Assistant Coach of Varsity Baseball, and also helps out with JV Girls Golf. He is truly everywhere.

It is not uncommon to see spouses working together in schools, but to bring in one of their children is something truly special.
“It is really cool to see him follow in my footsteps. Nothing makes me more proud than seeing him coach. Pete’s really passionate about what he does and has come a long way,” Mr. Ray Del Fava said..
Mrs. Del Fava noted the striking similarities between her husband and son.
“Pete is his father’s son. He’s a mini Ray. All he wants to do is befriend everyone,” his mom said.
Mothers can never retire from their duties, which Mrs. Del Fava realized with her son joining the building.
“The running joke is that my salary has gone down. Now that Pete works here, I buy him lunch all the time. It’s like he’s back in high school again,” his mom joked.
Specifically with the Varsity Baseball Team, Pete Del Fava has made a great coach and friend to his players.

“Every time I step up to the plate, I’ve got more drive to get on base because Pete’s always got a little treat waiting for me,” senior Jack Lamberti said.
Del Fava keeps sunflower seeds and/or M&M’s (Jack’s favorite) at first base for his players that get there.
In school, Del Fava earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Wisconsin – Lacrosse. Currently, he is finishing earning a Master’s degree in special education at the American College of Education.
Outside of school, Del Fava is a golf fanatic. During the summer, he enjoys playing tournaments. He also plays in a slow pitch softball league. If he’s going out to lunch, you can probably find him at Bluffington’s.
Del Fava has a story for everything and people like him are what makes Lake Forest special. If you are lucky enough to have Del Fava as a teacher or coach, it is certain that you will have a new friend.
