Senior Nicholas Nassar has recently committed to Villanova for Division I track and field, specializing in throwing. Nassar is ready and excited to be a Wildcat this coming fall.
A driven athlete and student, Nassar is no stranger to any challenge and is ready for the academics and athletics that Villanova offers. Villanova is a member of the NCAA Division I level, primarily competing in the Big East Conference.
Nicholas is a multi-sport athlete, excelling in football, track and field, and formerly swimming and water polo. This commitment is the culmination of years of effort and a dream he’s had since starting track his sophomore year.
Reaching this point hasn’t been an easy road. The recruitment process for track and field has its own unique challenges, requiring athletes to take a proactive role.
“It’s not as much coaches reaching out to you as much as you reaching out to them,” Nassar said.
After Nassar went to the academic pre-read, Villanova coaches, Coach Peter and Coach O’Sullivan, finally offered him a spot.
“All summer I reached out to a bunch of schools that were academically somewhere I wanted to go. It wasn’t until the fall that the communication started to ramp up and make progress. Villanova was always at the top of my list,” Nassar said.
As he heads into his senior year track season, Nassar is filled with confidence and determination. He is ready for this opportunity and will live up to the expectations this sport has and the ones he has set for himself. Next fall, Nassar looks forward to starting a new chapter as a Villanova Wildcat, prepared for success both on and off the field.
