Boden Rupprecht, a standout senior athlete and captain of the Lake Forest Varsity Soccer Team, has officially committed to Trinity College to continue his soccer career. Rupprecht’s commitment to the game has been evident since his freshman year when he got pulled up to varsity for the playoffs, but it’s his recent performances that have distinguished him as a high skill player and reliable teammate.
“Boden has become much more of a crucial factor in our team as the season has gone on. He has shown great leadership and plays best as a team player controlling the midfield,” Co-Captain Ryan Knight said.
Rupprecht’s visit to Trinity in September set it apart from all the other schools he was debating. He was able to tour the campus, meet with admissions, athletic directors, coaches, and was also able to stay in the dorms with a player. After his short trip to Trinity, he knew that was where he wanted to go.
In addition to his physical talent, Rupprecht is known for his attitude towards the game and his relentless effort. Under his captaincy, the team is “closer than ever,” Knight said, which has translated into better communication and stronger performances on the field.
“I think my leadership skills are definitely a strength through my actual communication and just setting a good example with my work ethic and my play,” Rupprecht said.
Rupprecht serves as a constant reminder of the resilience required to succeed in a lifelong sport. During the offseason of his senior year, Rupprecht lost motivation in the sport he loved. He was reminded of his passion for soccer during the offseason when they had a two week break. His time off from the sport had him itching to get back on the field. After recognizing that he could not go a few weeks without soccer, Rupprecht instantly knew that college soccer was in his future.
As the high school season enters playoffs, all eyes are on Rupprecht and the Scouts as they work toward their goal of a State Championship. The Scouts have won their first conference championship since 2013 and are aiming for higher successes. With his sights set on finishing his high school career on the right note, Rupprecht’s next chapter at Trinity will be just as successful, if not more.
