After a historic spring season, the 2024 Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team will be honored with a ceremony for recieving their State Championship rings during halftime at the Varsity Football game on Friday, October 18th.

Last spring, they beat Glenbard West, 4-1 in the state championship, claiming the first place title. This was the first time in over 20 years the team has been state champions.

It was a  very successful and memorable season, and the team hopes to recreate last year’s success.

“I’m so excited for this great moment of the ceremony and I am looking forward to get to spend it with my teammates, but the job’s not finished,” said Sophomore captain Emmet Lee.

Even though there is a lot of time until the season begins, members of the team already have goals set to potentially achieve this title again in the 2025 season.

“It was really cool to be a part of last year’s team and the big win. Despite all of the excitement for the upcoming ring ceremony, many of the team’s leaders are reminding players to keep our eyes looking to our future success rather than what we’ve accomplished in the past,” senior Jimmy Rappel said.

The ring ceremony is extremely anticipated, however, the eventful night doesn’t end there. It is the annual pink-out-themed game, senior night for Varsity Football, Cheerleading, Dance, and Band, and the new video scoreboard has been installed and will be used for the first time. This will be a memorable night for the Lake Forest community.

These will be fun ceremonies as the town comes together to celebrate great achievements from a variety of activities. Be sure to come and celebrate!
